New Rosetown Clinic Strengthens Access to Team Based Primary Care

CANADA, September 10 - Released on September 10, 2026

A new team-based primary care clinic in Rosetown is bringing health care professionals together to provide coordinated care for patients in the community.

"The Rosetown and District Primary Care Clinic is a great example of team-based care in action and reflects our Patients First approach of providing the right care, at the right time in the right place," Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors and Rural and Remote Health Minister Lori Carr said. "By bringing health professionals together under one roof, we are making better use of their expertise and helping ensure people in Rosetown and surrounding area have better access to quality healthcare."

The centre currently has a team of six physicians, along with a registered nurse, a Behavioral Health Consultant, a part-time pharmacist supported by two clinic supervisors and five medical office assistants. Bringing these health professionals together under one roof supports coordinated, team-based care and connects patients with the right provider for their needs.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is actively recruiting to fill two additional vacant primary care physician positions and one nurse practitioner position. Once recruited, these providers will further strengthen the team and enhance access to primary care services.

Team-based care allows health professionals to work together and practise to the full extent of their training. It can be particularly beneficial for people with chronic diseases or complex health needs who may require ongoing support from multiple providers.

"The new Rosetown and District Primary Care Clinic demonstrates what is possible when health system partners, community organizations and local leaders work together toward a shared goal," Saskatchewan Health Authority Integrated Rural Health Vice President Brenda Schwan said. "This new integrated clinic creates a single point of access for primary and specialized health services, making it easier for patients to navigate the health system and receive coordinated care closer to home. As we continue to build team-based models of care across Saskatchewan, facilities like this help connect patients to the right provider, strengthen continuity of care, and support better health outcomes for the communities we serve."

The Government of Saskatchewan continues to support team-based primary care models and expand the roles of health professionals across the province. The clinic is building capacity so patients can access a range of services and providers in one location. When providers work together, they can better coordinate a patient's care and share information.

"As mayor, I am proud to celebrate the opening of this new health clinic, which will be an important resource for our residents and the surrounding area," Rosetown Mayor Trevor Hay said. "This clinic reflects the strong partnership between our community, the Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority, and demonstrates what can be achieved when we work together. For many residents, especially seniors, young families and those who previously had to travel for care, this clinic will provide greater convenience, continuity of care and peace of mind knowing quality health services are available closer to home. Today's announcement is about investing in a stronger, healthier future for Rosetown.

Saskatchewan is increasing access to high-quality team-based health care. This helps patients receive more consistent care over time as tasks are given to the provider best positioned to address them, resulting in better long-term health outcomes.
