Canada urges for unrestricted humanitarian aid access to Gaza

(MENAFN) Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on Wednesday emphasized the need for unrestricted humanitarian aid to reach the Gaza Strip, while voicing support for US-led peace initiatives in the region.

Speaking after the G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Anand highlighted the urgency of establishing a path toward peace and long-term stability in the Middle East. “We reiterated our support for the US comprehensive peace plan to end the Gaza conflict, and we continue to call for the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid,” she said.

Anand also reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to global humanitarian efforts, adding that the country will maintain a leadership role in ensuring aid reaches those in need.
